I love The Black Keys. I love their staunch support of Akron, OH. I love that the El Camino album cover above features their beat-up tour van. My appreciation for their music is well-documented (here, here, here), but I’ve had El Camino on repeat all week. You’ll have no trouble identifying it as a Black Keys album, but it’s a bit of a departure from the soulfulness of Brothers. It scurries back into the embrace of that harder dirty bluesy rock sound they do so well. Throw on some cans and see what you think.
Here are the first two singles from the album:
The Black Keys – El Camino – Lonely Boy
The Black Keys – El Camino – Gold On The Ceiling
They’ve been playing both of these on the late night circuit this week. The Gold On The Ceiling performance on Letterman was the standout for me.
